Art For Healing Classes
Art For Healing is a program supported by a grant given to the Integrative Medicine Department earmarked for the Art for Healing program intended for cancer survivors, thrivers, and caretakers. Therefore the classes are free. Register for the class you wish to attend. Be sure your email is given at checkout. All classes are free and will take place in the Education Room located in the Hartford Healthcare building on 1290 Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield.
January 13: SoulCollage® New Year New You (Monday 6-8 pm) - Come make a SoulCollage card that will reflect what you wish to manifest within yourself for the coming year. Experience with SoulCollage® is helpful but not necessary for this class. All materials are provided.
February 8: Bookmaking Post-It note pad and pen set (Saturday 10am-12pm) - Learn how to make a decorative booklet that holds a post-it note pad. Then learn how to make a matching pen to create a set. No bookmaking experience is needed. All materials are provided.
February 17: SoulCollage® The Wisdom of Pooh Bear (Monday 6-8 pm) - Come make a card that reflects one of the nuggets of wisdom Pooh has to offer that resonates with you. Experience with SoulCollage® is helpful but not necessary for this class. All materials are provided.
March 31: Introduction to SoulCollage®(Monday 6-8pm) - Would you like to access your intuition and wisdom, take a relaxing break from stress, renew your spiritual connection, or reconnect with your creativity? If so, SoulCollage®, as created by Seena Frost is for you! No artistic skills are needed to create SoulCollage® cards. Learn how to mix imagination and intuition using powerful images to form a card that will reflect your inner self. Learn the process of making and understanding your SoulCollage® cards. Come make one, two, or possibly more cards that eventually will form a deck that becomes your own visual journal.
April 28: SoulCollage® Kintsugi (Monday 6-8 pm) - Learn about this art form of taking something broken and piecing it back together with gold to make something beautiful. We will apply this technique to a SoulCollage® card. Experience with SoulCollage® is helpful but not necessary for this class. All materials are provided.
May 3: Ripped Paper Collage (Saturday 10am - 12pm) - Ripped paper collage is an abstract way in which to represent a feeling, idea, or vision. It is meant to be fun and messy. There is no perfect right way to collage. Anything that you put down that you don't like can be glued over with another piece of paper. Come get in touch with your creative soul, let go and enjoy the collage process! All materials will be provided.
May 12: SoulCollage® Card Spreads for Inner Wisdom (Monday 6-8 pm) - This class is for people who already have made SoulCollage® cards. Participants must bring their deck of cards with them to use. We will be exploring various card spreads to gain inner wisdom to our personal questions or for guidance.
